I have a confession to make - I’ve dictated some of my posts to an LLM in the past ~year to avoid writing directly when I’m busy and I regret it.
There’s something to writing things by hand. There’s more intention and more clarity of thought. I don’t think writing needs to be complicated, or long, or some crazy endeavor that is supposed to be lived forever.
I see this professionally a lot where people send these slop bombs around in the form of long docs. A long doc can be great! The more important thing though is that all of the thought that goes into it is high quality, and most of the things I see these days are…. questionable….
I think the same goes for products too. Sure, you can slop cannon whatever into existence but did you actually think about the intricacies of what you’re doing? Do you understand the tradeoffs? And did you build is specifically tailored for an audience? If not, we could tell.
I’m off from work this week and spending some more time writing and reflecting. I’m excited to get back to it.
