I don’t have a ton to say here ahead of the midterms, except that it looks that the midterms will bring balance and I’m here for it. There were several things I was hopeful for during the Trump administration — an end to the wars (they got worse), reasonable technology regulation (got it), balancing of the budget (it got worse), an end to woke-ism (got it), and an end to the corruption in our national government (it’s just different people now unfortunately).
Overall, solid C, but I think a balance will help with some of the things that we aren’t getting and perhaps the majorities in the congress weren’t a good thing for the country.
I’ve moved from quite progressive to independent in my political thinking over the past 3-4 years. My read on the world is that really this whole politics thing is just God’s way of distributing his will over time and I have a lot of trust in that process. Our nation was founded on it after all. I think that the way it was designed was to allow the wisdom of the masses decide what is best for us because we often don’t know what is good for us individually. I’m grateful for all of those who participate in that process.
I think the world doesn’t need these wars and that the corruption that has been coming to light around our top-level delegations to these countries is disgusting and potentially treasonous. I also think that some positive things have happened during this administration so it’s not black or white.
I don’t love writing about it because being in the “middle“ means that nearly everyone in the polars HATES you, but this is my opinion and me exercising my free speech. I hope everyone has a good Tuesday and gets out to vote.
